Happy Turkey Day
turkeys.
(I don’t much go in for all the jingoistic or historical aspects of the holiday, but any day devoted to food, family and football . . . yeah, I’m down with that.)
I hope you all have a joyous and safe holiday, that you can count your blessings, and that you’re appropriately thankful for the same.

Wednesday
And,
I've got nothing to say.
Except,
I'm maybe,
possibly,
tentatively
thinking about maybe, possibly, tentatively
running for judge.
So. There's that.

In Memoriam
I had posted elsewhere
many moons ago
about how I still remember the first time I ever heard the Velvet Underground
and what they’ve meant to me.
I won’t go through all that, again.
Instead I’ll just say
thank you, Lou,
for the memories
and, more importantly,
for the music.
A sad Sunday morning, indeed.

monday
It's true . . .
or, better still . . .
yeah, I know.
It’s not much of a blog.
But I needed something,
to put the melancholy of the prior one
behind.

The saddest of days
“Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet prince;
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.”
It is with a heavy heart that, today, I report the passing of Gryphon.
Soiler of furniture, scourge of mail-carriers, artistic creator of intricate drool patterns
(&/or lakes)
and, truly one of the sweetest and most noble spirits I’ve ever encountered.
May the squirrels in dog heaven be slower,
the strangers less frightening,
and the sink always be turned on for your middle-of-the-night drinks.
Our love, of course, will always be with you.
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.”
